Retasted 10/11/2016 [30% ABV bottling] For some reason, the nose is almost a non-event. A shame, given that the higher abv has made for a more creamy, textural and intense delivery with greater length and purity. Quite delicious.
Previously tasted 7/3/2015.... [17% ABV bottling] Deep burnished copper with minor sediment in the glass. Subdued opening offers a pure but restrained expression of the fruit. Several minutes in the glass doesn't budge this in any significant way except gaining a point intensity wise. More impressive on the palate, it delivers a medium bodied, authentic and judiciously balanced profile with the fruit's sweet/tart flavours nicely preserved. The producers recommend it poured over ice cream.
