In 1866, Varley Bailey established his vineyard at the foot of the Warby Range, near Glenrowan in North East Victoria. Since the first vintage in 1890, Baileys has become renowned as a wine maker of distinctive quality, its fortifieds winning acclaim across the world.The soil is a deep-red and well-drained of volcanic origin. The wine was matured in various sizes of old oak andexhibits intense toffee, malt extract and butterscotch flavours. The palate is rich with luscious sweetness, balanced by acid, oak and alcohol. On the nose there is a typical Tokay aroma of toffee and caramel. Suggested food: Rich dessert, steamed pudding over ice cream. 18% alcohol volume.
