Aberargie Inaugural Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Aberargie is the Morrison family's new distillery which commenced operation in 2017. Located on their 300 acre farm just outside of Perth, the whisky is made from a mash bill of 52% Golden Promise barley, a heritage variety that’s no longer commonly used. The other 48% is made up by a modern variety, Laureate. Both are grown on the farm. The whisky comes matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon and first-fill sherry casks. 48.2% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Other reviews... more apples and light oak spices, but also slivers of silage, straw and porridge accompanying the likes of plums, dates and banana. Finish: Medium length. A touch of milk chocolate, some muscovado sugar and grainy pears... Quite alright indeed. When you hear all the specs you can't help but get your hopes up.
