2026 Soumah Single Vineyard Hexham Savarro

Fresh and zesty with superb concentration and drive.

Savarro is an ancient green-skinned, tight-bunched grape variety that was first recorded in the 10th century. Over the millennia it travelled to all corners of Europe and was then extensively used to create many of today’s modern varieties. The cool climate of the Yarra Valley is perfect for the Savarro, with Soumah’s take on the variety cool tank fermented to retain fresh aromatics and aged on lees to promote texture.
Brilliant water like colour with a faint greenish tinge around the edges. Lime and green apple scents infused with fresh garden herbs leap from the glass with impressive intensity. Some wet stone and flinty mineral notes ensue. Zesty lime, green apple and green pear fruits engulf the mouth. Infusions of fresh herbs and stony mineral elements line the back half. Boasting superb concentration and drive it has crunchy acidity and a long scrumptious finish.
