2025 Wirra Wirra Farmer’s Heart Grenache
Vibrant, bouncy and juicy Grenache bursting with red fruit.
From vines with an average age of 60 years old. Maturation took place in a combination of old French oak puncheons and stainless steel for 9 months. Deep dark red black tinged core with a bright red purple tinged hue. Freshly crushed aromas of red raspberry, ripe cherry and red liquorice flow through the nostrils trailed by some vanillin spice, earth and peppered herb notes. Vibrant, bouncy and juicy, delicious red to dark raspberry, liquorice and cherry fruits are scattered across the mid weighted palate. Bright acidity with some vanillin spice, fresh herb and pepper accents detailed across the back half. Slightly chalky, graphite like tannins. Finishes energetic and some what tense yet bursting with red fruits.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
Other Reviews…..
From a few sites, with vines ranging from mature to ancient. This naturally carries the depth of a vintage that was warm and dry, with generally reduced yields. Dark red and black cherries, raspberry compote, summer pudding, some white pepper and dried herbs. It’s fuller in weight, if abidingly fresh in feel, the tannins carefully extracted to meet the concentration, with a savoury skein of natural grip, shaped for food. Drink by 2031.
