2025 Torbreck Woodcutter's Shiraz
Barossa Valley, South Australia, AUSTRALIA
Rich and exuberant with a youthful freshness and opulent yet inky mouth feel.
The Woodcutter’s Shiraz is sourced from Torbreck’s younger vineyards located in the prime Barossa sub regions of Marananga, Greenock, Seppeltsfield, Gomersal, Rowland Flat, Lyndoch, Krondorf and Ebenezer.
Fruit is hand harvested and fermented in a mixture of cement, wooden and stainless steel vats for 6-7 days. It is then basket pressed to well-seasoned hogsheads and French oak foudres where it’s matured for 12 months.
Magnificent depth of colour featuring an impenetrable inky black heart along with an equally deep dark purple black hue. Freshly crushed blackberry, dark plum juice, liquorice and ripe blueberry scents flood the nostrils trailed by some spicy vanillin cedar, fennel and subtle pepper notes. Rich exuberant dark plum, liquorice and ripe blueberry fruits cascade across the palate with impressive concentration. Possessing a youthful freshness and opulent yet inky mouth feel, notions of spicy vanillin cedar, fennel and pepper are also present. Velvet like tannins with a long succulent pepper laced finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
