2025 Mulline Sutherlands Creek Chardonnay

A long, complex and highly finessed Chardonnay that delivers a seamless flavour experience.

Sourced from the Strathmore Vineyard in Sutherlands Creek. Thirty percent of the wine went through malolactic fermentation with maturation taking place in French oak (25% new) for a period of 8 months.

Brilliant pale straw colour with green tinted edges and a watery hue. Showing wonderful refinement, the nose offers up intense aromatics of white peach, nectarine and pear which are interwoven with biscuity nougat, spicy cashew and faint gun flint notes. The moreish palate delivers a seamless flavour experience of nectarine, white peach and pear fruits melded to a spicy cashew, biscuity nougat, subtle dried honey and gun flint infused back drop. Superb depth and drive with a gently creamy textural feel extending across the long, complex and highly finessed finish that shows impressive freshness.

From a 10 000-vines-per-ha close-planted vineyard in the Moorabool Valley. Matured in 30% new French puncheons; 20% mlf. Very bright green gold. A step up in intensity yet with lower alcohol than the '24. The result is a complex and pure-fruited bouquet of white nectarine, jasmine and sea spray. Fills out beautifully on the medium-bodied, energetic and structured palate. A terrific wine that will need another six to 12 months to hit its straps but will continue to improve in the bottle for another five to seven years at least. Drink by 2034.
