2025 Moss Wood Amy’s
Margaret River, Western Australia, AUSTRALIA
A deeply fruited blend that has a long, refined finish.
Moss Wood’s entry level Cabernets, Amy’s, is a Bordeaux-styled blend that’s produced in an earlier drinking style loaded with generous fruit that shows plenty of flesh. Sourced from the Glenmore vineyard just north of Yallingup. It’s a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 8% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot. Maturation takes place in 228 litre older French oak barrels for a period of 14 months.
Pitch black heart with a bright purple red hue. Freshly crushed red to black currant and liquorice scents are followed by cedary tobacco, subtle inky earth and bay leaf notes. Mid weighted, the palate is flooded with juicy red to black currant, red liquorice and mulberry fruits that are delivered with splendid concentration. Cedary tobacco, earth and bay leaf elements ensue. Possessing ample freshness and slightly chalky tannins it has a long, deeply fruited yet refined finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

A classic Bordeaux Blend style from Margaret River, the wine is 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 8% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot. It is worth mentioning that if you really want to get your full wine geek on, no other winery in the country provides as much and as intricate detail about their wines as these guys do. Definitely worth checking out their website (you doubt me? You want to know the Baume of each of those varieties and the date on which they were each harvested, it is all there). Maturation was in French oak barriques, none of them new.
Deep magenta with a plum rim, this is a really exciting wine and helps to confirm the reports of 2025 being something very special. Whilst one should be happy with what is to hand and not playing the ‘grass is greener’ card, if this wine is this good then Moss Wood’s Cabernet from the same vintage might be yet another tour de force. The nose here gives us aromas of chocolate, cassis, leather, truffles, tobacco leaves, aniseed and plums. The structure is seamless with immaculate balance and the wine is well focused with excellent length. It finishes with silky tannins. Still youthful and fresh, it surely has at least another dozen years ahead of it. And what incredible value. Drink 2026-2038.

81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 8% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot. After the pretty robust 2024, we are back into a more ‘classic’ vintage with 2025.
Blue and black fruit, raspberry jubes, roses and chocolate box, black olive and nori, light cedar oak and spice. It’s medium-bodied, quite supple in the tannin department, just a quiet grainy grip on offer here, a light glycerol feel lends a certain slipperiness, some savoury nutty flavour and milk chocolate, again the blue fruits with an iodine-laced finish of good length. A very nice drink. Quite approachable too. Drink 2026-2035.

Spicy and dark fruited, with aromas of flowers, fresh herbs and a distinctive oceanic influence. The palate is rounded and textural, with a generous mid-palate, firm yet integrated tannins and a long, mouthwatering finish. A blend of 80% cabernet sauvignon with some merlot, petit verdot and malbec. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
