2025 Jim Barry Lodge Hill Riesling
Tense and mouth watering with a long electric finish.
Jim Barry purchased the Lodge Hill vineyard in 1977, convinced that it would produce some of the best Riesling in Clare. Situated on the eastern ranges of the township of Clare, it is one of the highest vineyards in the Valley at an altitude of 480 metres, and is ideal for producing steely, minerally Rieslings, distinctive to the area.
Brilliant water like core with a faint greenish tinge around the outskirts. Lime, lemon and orange rind scents jump out of the glass followed by some chalky talc and mineral notes. Tense and mouth watering the palate displays superb drive, lined with zesty lime, citrus and orange rind fruits. Crisp acidity with chalky talc and steely mineral elements extending across the long electric finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
