2025 Garagiste Merricks Pinot Gris

A rich, textural Pinot Gris that’s terrifically concentrated and boasts a long voluminous finish.

The fruit for this excellent fuller styled Pinot Gris is sourced from 28-year-old, northeast-facing vines rooted in the signature grey loam and red ferrosols soils of Merricks. The majority of the fruit is pressed as bunches to old puncheons with full solids and kept on lees, while a small portion of the blend (10%) ferments carbonically for three weeks.
Brilliant pale straw colour with highlights of green around the edges and a watery hue. Pronounced aromas of ripe pear, baked apple and honeycomb are trailed by some quince and cinnamon notes. Rich and textural, the palate is engulfed with mouth filling ripe pear, baked apple, quince, honeycomb, musk and cinnamon spice flavours. Boasting terrific concentration, it has a line of fresh underlying acidity and a long voluminous finish.
