2025 Freycinet Vineyard Pinot Noir
Tasmania, AUSTRALIA
Deliciously juicy and powerful with ample freshness and a long expansive finish.
Matured in French oak barriques (25% new) for 12 months on fine lees. Semi translucent ruby red colour with black toned edges and a vibrant light red hue. Fragrant dark cherry, violet, strawberry and anise aromas sail through the olfactory senses complimented by some forest floor, fresh herb and subtle spicy cedar notes. Deliciously juicy, the palate is flooded with red to dark cherry and strawberry fruits. Subtle anise, forest floor, fresh herb, brambly cedar and spice elements lend further nuance across the back half. Light but powerful it has silky smooth tannins, ample freshness and a long expansive finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 14%
Other Reviews….
Medium-light red-purple colour; strawberry and raspberry aromas of a pinot that suggest early picked fruit, but the warmth of alcohol on the finish suggests otherwise. A pretty style of pinot with high-pitched red-fruit aromas and juicy, herbal/bunchy flavours finishing with slightly sappy tannins. Lighter protein-rich foods such as cheeses or cold meats would work with this lovely wine.
