2025 Fighting Gully Road Sangiovese

Juicy and energetic with a long spicy, red fruited finish.

A blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino. Vibrant red to dark red colour with black shaded edges and a bright crimson red tinged hue. Spicy red currant, red liquorice and cherry scents leap out of the glass trailed by fresh herb, gentle tobacco and earth notes. Juicy red currant rhubarb and red liquorice fruits carry an energetic feel melding into a tobacco, dried herb, earth and spice back drop. Boasting excellent concentration, fresh acidity and slightly chalky tannins, it has a long spicy, red fruited finish.

Think of the first Australian sangiovese you ever tried and then try this – the two are worlds apart. The fruit sweetness, so obvious back then, is now one layer of many, a multi-cast member that includes dried herbs, black pepper, sun-dried tomato, leaf and earth among redcurrant, cherry and red plum fruits.
