2025 Chateau d'Aiguilhe Pre-Arrival Offer
Other Reviews...
The 2025 d'Aiguilhe offers up a heady concoction of red/purplish fruit, lavender, black pepper, rose petal, cinnamon, new leather and blood orange. There's gorgeous textural depth here, but also plenty of energy to complement the wine's fruit intensity and overall richness. The tannins will need a bit of time to soften. Drink 2028-2037.

A firm and fresh red with white pepper, salt and iodine that follow through to a medium body with linear tannins and a bright finish. Long finish.

Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Château D'Aiguilhe is based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc from very old vines and aging in 20% new oak. It has a classic limestone-driven profile in its red and black fruits, sappy flowers, and chalky minerality. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, with a pure, balanced, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and good acidity.

A fresh and engaging showing: a wet-stone note on the nose alongside bright red cherry fruit gives an immediate sense of lift. The palate packs plenty of juice, underpinned by lively acidity (pH 3.35) that keeps everything energetic, if not quite as seamlessly balanced as the best examples in this vintage that marry ripeness and freshness more completely. Still, a well-crafted wine with good vibrancy and charm - and more convincing than some peers in this price range, and an enjoyable expression overall.
