2025 Chateau Beausejour (J. Duffau-Lagarrosse) Pre-Arrival Offer
Other Reviews...
A blend of 69% Merlot and 31% Cabernet Franc, the 2025 Beauséjour (Duffau Lagarrosse) unwinds in the glass with notes of violets and sweet wild berries, displaying lovely purity and integration. Medium- to full-bodied, concentrated and layered, with bright acids, ripe tannins and a penetrating finish, it's Joséphine Duffau Lagarrosse's most accomplished wine to date, showing just what this exceptional limestone terroir is capable of.

The 2025 Beauséjour J. Duffau-Lagarrosse is a fabulous, contemporary Saint-Émilion. Notes of lavender, rose petal and mocha lift the effortless bouquet. Silky tannins and deceptively mid-weight structure are some of the signatures. Stylistically, Beauséjour is one of the most aromatic, understated wines in Saint-Émilion. Bright red-toned fruit, spice and pomegranate unfold with time in the glass. Drink 2035-2065.

So much clarity and precision in this wine. Medium-bodied, restrained and elegant, with a subtle, chalky texture and a very fine, even structure. Elegant, precise profile. 69% merlot and 31% cabernet franc.

The 2025 Château Beauséjour (Duffau-Lagarrosse) is a deep ruby-hued Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé harvested between September 5th and 19th from healthy yields of 39 hectoliters per hectare. It has a gorgeous perfume of cassis and black cherries intermixed with beautiful floral nuances of rose and violets, graphite, and crushed stone-like minerality. On the palate, it has incredible purity, perfect ripeness, ripe yet building tannins, and a great finish. Hitting 13.7% alcohol with a pH of 3.39, it shows the vintage's juicy, fresher style yet brings gorgeous mid-palate depth and length.

What a brilliant wine in 2025 – a very true, very authentic and very hands-off wine while delivering superb freshness and vitality. Rose petals with such a floral fragrance, really crystalline and pure with peonies and violets alongside strawberry and red cherry. Softly chewy, immediately really quite fun and friendly in the mouth – purity is the focus here with such clarity and crystalline juiciness. Lightly presented with no muscle or heft, it’s all about the delicacy and freshness. Very limestone but not overly tense. Vibrant but not with citrus acidity. I love the gentleness with salty stones and velvety, powdery tannins on the finish. Juicy, clean, focused and lovely with a very soft chew that emerges after a few minutes. More Merlot now goes into the second wine with the goal of 30% Cabernet Franc in this wine. 3.39pH. A yield of 39hl/ha. Ageing in 55% new oak and the rest one-year-old barrels. Drink 2032-2050.

The aromatic profile serves up its display of flowers, plums, and chocolate, with a touch of orange rind, with ease. The palate is where the wine shines. Silky, lifted, elegant, vibrant, and with marine influences, the fruits express a beautiful purity that comes through due to their sweet, fresh, and lively character. There is body, concentration, depth of flavor, refinement, and energy that are immediately noticeable. The finish is long, complex, and expansive, allowing the wine to linger gracefully. The wine blends 69% Merlot with 31% Cabernet Franc, 13.9% ABV, 3.39 pH. Yields were 39 hectoliters per hectare. The harvest took place September 5 - September 19. Drink from 2030 - 2060.
