2025 Brokenwood Rosato
Dry and crisp with tangy acidity and a savoury finish.
Made from a blend of 55% Sangiovese and 45% Nebbiolo sourced from vineyards in NSW and Victoria. Pale salmon pink tinged colour. Elevated aromatics of peach, blood orange and strawberry fills the nostrils followed by some musk and wet stone notes. Delicious peach, strawberry and blood orange fruits are underpinned by tangy acidity with infusions of rosewater and stony mineral elements lingering across the back half. Dry and crisp it has a savoury finish that shows some spice.
Drink over the next year.
Alc. 12.5%
Other Reviews…..
This elegant and graceful rosé is the taste of summer, with high tones of spiced lemon and peony accented by subtle crushed strawberries. The palate has the perfect amount of fruit weight and gentle savouriness, and the finish is refreshingly dry. Drink by 2027.

This Rosé style from Brokenwood has become a bit of a hit since its release about 10 years ago. It’s a combination of the Italian varieties Nebbiolo from the north and Sangiovese from further south. It’s light-bodied, pale in colour, and slightly savoury in character, yet the light red fruits on the palate and floral aromas are absolutely engaging. It even gets a little bit of foot stomping during the making, and a small portion is fermented in old oak. The result is a wine that comes together beautifully. Absolutely scrumptious and ready for current drinking. Lovely stuff. Drink 2025-2029.
