2025 Bellvale Chardonnay

Rich yet refined with a long, fresh, generously shaped finish.

Brilliant pale straw colour with green highlighted edges and a watery hue. Attractive white peach, nectarine, dried honey and cashew aromas drift from the glass with some biscuity nougat and spice notes also evident. Rich and creamy yet refined in its feel, mouth filling flavours of white peach, nectarine and dried honey are layered across the palate. Biscuity nougat, subtle spicy cashew and delicate struck match stick overtones unfold across the back half. Finishes fresh, long and generously shaped.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

We have a winner here. This is crisp and elegant and textural and long, and throughout it just simply tastes good. It’s as good or better than any Bellvale Chardonnay I’ve had previous. It tastes of pears, nectarines, oyster shells and grapefruit, with hay, cedar and toast notes layered over the top – the latter in the most subtle way possible. If this is a sign of things to come from the Bellvale vineyard, under new ownership, then we have a lot to look forward to. Drink 2026-2031+
