2025 Alamos Malbec
Mendoza, ARGENTINA
A juicy, mid weighted Malbec that has prominent vanillin spice character to it.
Alamos is the entry level label for Argentinian giant Catena offering the best of Mendoza’s high altitude vineyards at an incredible price. Grown on foothills of the Andes Mountains at elevations of 3,000 to 5,000 feet, the intense sunlight, cool evening temperatures and mineral-rich irrigation from melted mountain snow translates to a rich wine with intense flavour characteristics.
A blend of 90% Malbec and 10% Bonarda aged for between 6-8 months in French oak. Midnight black dark red core with a dark red hue. Lifted dark cherry and blackcurrant aromas mix with some ripe blueberry, dried herb and spicy earth notes. The juicy mid weighted palate features juicy dark cherry, plum and blueberry fruits which meld into a vanillin cedar, dried herb and subtle earth back drop. Polished tannins with a generously fruited finish that has prominent vanillin spice characters lingering across it.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
