2024 Wellington & Wolfe Eylandt Off Dry Riesling

A light, fruity off dry Riesling that has an electric feel to it.

Brilliant water like colour with a faint greenish tinge around the edges. Aromas of lime zest, red apple skin and orange blossom are followed by hints of honeysuckle and flinty mineral notes. Fruity red apple, lime and mandarin flavours have a racy feel across the light, electric palate. Crisp acidity with subtle honeysuckle and zingy mineral elements lingering through the long, elegant off dry finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

I'm a sucker for an off-dry riesling. 'Breakfast wines' my German mates call them, with their modest alcohols and RS to get the day started. Lemon, lime, white peach and green apple all make an appearance here, with a sorbet-like intensity to its carry, a slick of mineral salts and stone, a scattering of dried herbs and a lovely balance between sweetness and acidity. Drink by 2035.
