2024 Teusner Joshua Grenache Mataro Shiraz
Barossa Valley, South Australia, AUSTRALIA
Fleshy and plush with a long, sumptuous finish.
An unoaked blend of Grenache, Mataro and Shiraz. The Grenache and Mataro fruit is sourced from old vines at Ebenezer, Williamstown, Seppeltsfield and Tanunda with the Shiraz coming from 20 year old vines.
Deep dark red black tinged core with a dark red hue. Dark raspberry, plum and liquorice scents sail through the nostrils followed by some vanillin spice, dried herb and peppered earth notes. Juicy dark raspberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits overlay an earthy dark chocolate, vanillin spice and subtle peppered dried herb back drop. Fleshy and plush it has velvety tannins and a long, sumptuous finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Other Reviews…..
The much-loved and freakishly consistent Joshua – a grenache, shiraz and mataro blend – is again on form in the excellent '24 vintage. Juicy with plum, cranberry and raspberry fruits and layered with exotic spice and hints of dried citrus rind, blossom, dried meats and earth. Pure and plummy with a gentle slide into savoury on the finish, it's built for effortless consumption and it is at that which it excels. Drink by 2040.
