2024 Mulline Portarlington Pinot Noir
Light and vibrant yet powerful finishing long, elegant and energised.
Deep dark red black tinged core with a dark red hue. Lovely nose with a perfumed violet like top notes followed by a mix of red to dark cherry, strawberry and anise aromas. Lending further interest are spicy cedar, forest floor and dried herb scents. Light and vibrant in its feel yet possessing plenty of power, the delicious palate is decorated with sour to red cherry, winter strawberry and subtle anise flavours infused with fresh herbs. Forest floor, spicy cedar and crushed rock like elements sit underneath. Polished yet stony like tannins with a gentle tang to the acidity. Finishes long, elegant and energised.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 12.5%
Other Reviews…..
A single vineyard located right on the water in Port Arlington. All '98-planted MV6 clones; 30% whole bunches, 25% new oak. A deep ruby red. Concentrated with dark fruits, earth, licorice root and a little iodine. Similarly rich on the flavoursome, still closed, but even and well-structured palate that finishes with a burst of robust, meaty tannins. It'll need some time but, rest assured, your patience will be rewarded. Drink by 2035.
