2024 Mount Pleasant Estate Grown Semillon
Zesty lime and green apple fruits with crisp, mineral infused acidity imparting a chalky, energised feel.
Brilliant water like colour with a faint greenish tinge around the outskirts. Elevated aromatics of lime, Granny Smith apple and lemon are overlaid by steely mineral notes. Zesty lime and crunchy green apple fruits are underscored by crisp mineral infused acidity. Chalky, energised feel. Wet steel, lemon and slate characters linger across the long, zippy finish that shows excellent tension.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 11%
Other Reviews……
Primarily Lovedale, some old vine, with some 8 acres, and a new (but old) block that sits over from the winery on sandy soil that was purchased from Draytons.
Slightly peachy, citrus, pink grapefruit, a bit floral but not estery: very clean. Bright, flavoursome, a nice chalky pucker to texture, lime and lime rind, nicely balanced, sherbetty acidity, with juicy grapefruit finish of excellent length. A lot of energy here and a very good wine. A tickle of spritz. A fair bit of crunch. Excellent. Drink 2024-2038+

Gary Walsh – The Wine Front
A classically styled, elegant semillon with tremendous flavour bound within a tight, well-crafted structure. Ripe citrus flavours are complemented by sublime freshness and a chiselled acid line. The hand-picked fruit is sourced entirely from estate vineyards. Beautiful in its youth, yet poised to age with grace. Drink by 2034.
