2024 Marco Lubiana Derwent Valley Chardonnay

Understated in it’s power and beautifully shaped with a long refined finish.

Wild fermented with 11 months maturation in French oak (18% new) and full malolactic fermentation. Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. Pear, white peach and dried honey aromas drift through the nostrils followed by some citrusy nougat and faint spicy cashew notes. Beautifully shaped, the mid weighted palate features fleshy white peach, pear and dried honey flavours over biscuity nougat, cashew and spice elements which stretch out across the back half. Understated in it’s power it shows ample freshness throughout the long, refined finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Another excellent release from Marco Lubiana. Delicate, refined aromas of sliced lemons, crushed stones, flint, nectarines, white peaches and grapefruit. The palate is vibrant with racy acidity, the high-tension mouthfeel hinting at the underlying power that will unravel with time. The sky is the limit for this label. Drink or hold.
