2024 Gunderloch Fritz’s Riesling Dry
A zingy, entry level German Riesling.
Fritz's Riesling grows in a very small and special part of Rheinhessen called the Roter Hang, a name meaning “red hill“ due to its red-slate soils. The combination of the red slate soil, its proximity to the Rhine river, exposure to the sun and the steepness of the vineyards are perfect for producing wines with wonderful ripeness.
Brilliant water like core with green toned edges. Lime and red apple aromas lead the way followed by hints of mandarin, wet slate and flinty mineral notes. Zesty lime, red apple and mandarin fruits intermingle with delicate honeysuckle, wet slate and a flinty mineral under current. Crisp acidity imparting a zingy feel across the long, mouth watering finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
