A well fleshed, mid weighted yet energetic Chardonnay.

Wild yeast fermented and matured in barrel for 8 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with green tinted edges and a watery hue. Alluring scents of white peach, nectarine and dried honey drift through the olfactory senses complimented by some biscuity oak, citrusy nougat, cashew and subtle spice notes. Mid weighted, the palate shows good flesh with white peach, nectarine and citrusy dried honey flavours melding into a biscuity nougat, subtle cashew and spice back drop. Lively acidity lends an energetic feel across the otherwise gently creamed finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews…..
This sure is tight yet light. Bright and moreish, too. It’s all citrus toned with lemon and grapefruit, zest and juice, encased in spicy, sweet cedary oak. A nuttiness with creamy lees bolsters the linear aspect of the palate and the finish certainly lingers. It’s refreshing, tangy and juicy, almost energising. There’s a level of detail to this, keeping it in a classy spectrum. Drink by 2034.

This is the most elegant and stylish light-bodied chardonnay. It was whole-bunch pressed and wild yeast fermented. Then had six months in oak, so it hasn't seen an excessive amount of oak and yet the fruit has developed harmony and complexity. On the nose, there's a minerally sea spray citrus combination. And then the palate is really finely crafted and elegant with a degree of delicacy. A little white peach and nectarine and some crunchy chalky acidity completes an excellent wine. Has good cellaring potential too.

The 2024 Parterre Chardonnay is excellent—the acidity is lemony and fresh, the phenolics are sleek, and the fruit is firmly on the al dente/ripe spectrum and therefore shows an abundance of white peach. This is a beauty. 2024 was a tough year in Western Australian, on account of it being both hot and dry, and true to the elegant/composed style of this house, neither of these compounding challenges are evident in the glass. Bravo. If anything, it may not live as long as other vintages, but I daresay it'll all be drunk before then anyway. This is a great wine. 13% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
