2024 Forest Hill Vineyard Chardonnay
A brisk, mid weighted Chardonnay with lively acidity and a refined finish.
Brilliant pale straw colour with distinct highlights of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Aromas of nectarine and peach mix with hints of grapefruit, biscuity oak, bees wax and gun flint. Fleshy nectarine and grapefruit flavours carry a brisk feel across the mid weighted palate with biscuity oak, faint bees wax and gun flint elements the undercard. Lively acidity finishing fresh and refined.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 13%
Other Reviews….
A lavish, lush chardonnay which has richness but not a lot of intensity, which should suit many. Toasty, sweet spices, a lick of toffee apple, some lime and preserved lemon citrus influence, a bit of talc and quite a dose of cinnamon, coconut water and cedary notes. It washes over the senses well, albeit not particularly complex. A bit diffuse, perhaps, although generally pleasing. Drink by 2030.
