2024 Dominique Portet Single Vineyard Chardonnay

A rich and powerful yet gorgeously refined Yarra Valley Chardonnay.

Brilliant pale straw colour with a distinct green tint to the edges and a watery hue. Elevated scents of white peach and nectarine are married to citrus, dried honey, biscuit, nougat and subtle gun flint notes. Rich, concentrated and powerful yet gorgeously refined in its flow, the palate is layered with fleshy white peach and nectarine fruits. Notions of delicate dried honey, citrusy nougat, biscuity oak, cashew and infusions of gun flint lend further sophistication. Beautifully rounded, slippery textural feel balanced by fresh underlying acidity finds perfect equilibrium. Finishes long and expansive with a gentle creamy feel.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

From a vineyard in Gladysdale. 60/40% puncheons/barriques (25% new). 40% mlf. Richer than last year's but no less complex, with its bouquet of stone fruits and orange blossom together with a gentle nuttiness and light vanillin overlay. Mouth-filling and chalky. Good stuff to drink now and over the next three to five years. Drink by 2029.
