2024 Depardon & Fils Alexis Beaujolais Blanc

A shapely, Chablis styled Chardonnay with a long, expressive stony mineral laced finish.

Beaujolais Blanc makes up just 4 % of the region’s wines but is worth some attention. From a small 1.4 ha holding of 40-year-old vines planted in clay limestone soil in Villié-Morgon. 100% Chardonnay, hand harvested and raised 100% in stainless steel tank to retain freshness and precision, this cuvee sees full malo and shows excellent texture and intensity.
Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. Aromas of pear, white peach and dried honey are interwoven with wet stone and oyster shell like notes. Concentrated and beautifully shaped flavours of white peach, pear and lime carry a river stone like feel over an oyster shell and slatey mineral back drop. Refreshing acidity with a long, expressive stony mineral laced finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
