2024 De Bortoli Ancient Soils Tempranillo Touriga
Heathcote, Victoria, AUSTRALIA
A rich, juicy blend with chewy tannins and a long, deeply fruited finish that carries a robust feel.
Pitch black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced black cherry, liquorice and dark chocolate aromas flood the nostrils with some vanillin spice and earth notes also present. Rich juicy dark to black cherry and liquorice fruits engulf the front half of the palate with notions of vanillin oak, earthy dark chocolate and spice outlined across the rear. Chewy tannins with a long, deeply fruited finish that carries a robust feel.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 14%
Other Reviews…..
Destemmed, fermented in a range of vats, pressed, matured in seasoned, large French oak for three months. Stupendous value here. A top-drinking, super well-priced youngster that easily deserves to be on your everyday wine drinking list. Chock full of ripe black, red and blue berries, a world of spice, dusty cacao and warm, red earth. Touriga tannins play across the palate, tight and firm, reining in the wine's structure and providing a touch of serious intent and proportion.
