2023 Tyrrell’s Estate Grown Chardonnay
Flavoursome, generously fleshed Hunter Valley Chardonnay.
Fruit for this Chardonnay was sourced from Tyrrell’s famed BVD vineyard. Brilliant pale straw colour with distinct highlights of green around the edges and a watery hue. Aromas of nectarine and bees wax intermix with hints of toast, lemon butter and spice. Generously fleshed, the mid weighted palate features concentrated nectarine, citrus and lime flavours over a back drop of light toast, bees wax and spice. Good freshness with a flavoursome medium to long finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 13%
Other Reviews….
This distinctly modern chardonnay, made from old vineyards using traditional basket pressing, stands tall among others in the price range, showcasing perfect integration. While there are subtle lemon and white peach flavours with a hint of grapefruit pithiness on the close, the wine is not overly fruity. Oak adds depth and layers without being intrusive. It is made entirely from the prestigious HVD vineyard and highlights the strength of the chardonnay vintage. Tremendous value. Drink by 2028.
