Sourced from 75 year old vines planted in the McLaren Vale sub region of Blewitt Springs this Grenache was fermented with 25% whole bunches and matured in French oak puncheons for a period of 8 months. Dark red core with black tinged edges and a vibrant red purple hue. Leaping out of the glass with intensity are dark raspberry, red liquorice and cherry aromas which are complimented by hints of vanillin confectionary, subtle earth and peppery fresh herb like notes. Bursting across the palate are delicious raspberry, ripe cherry and red liquorice fruits which carry a juicy feel. A muscular like tannin structure and lively acidity provides the framework. Infusions of fresh herbs, subtle earth and pepper linger across the back half. Outstanding power with a finish that’s very energetic, long and succulent.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

Other Reviews….
Woah! This Single Vineyard Grenache from Penny's Hill is absolutely humming. Give it to me!
From 75 year old dry grown bush vines in Blewitt Springs, the vines sink their feet into deep sand. Made with 25% whole bunches, it sees 8 months in seasoned French oak.
Such a pretty wine, dried petals and purple flowers light this up. Pretty as, the freshness has been preserved deliberately and tosses up raspberry coulis and squishy raspberries. Drunken cherries and cherry pips add to the detail. Drying, it is delicately spiced with a satin like finish. What a cracker! Tasted with winemaker Lexi Roberts, I could get awfully comfortable with this. Brilliant!
Drink to eight years.

Beaming with red cherries and zingy Turkish Delight with an undertow of fresh mint and fragrant flowers. Creamy and mellow with a lush milk chocolate finish.
