2023 Moorooduc Estate Pinot Noir
A medium bodied Pinot Noir that’s generously fruited and spicy.
Moorooduc Estate, planted in 1982, was one of the first to be established on the Mornington Peninsula by Richard and Jill McIntyre. With yields of less than 2 tons per acre and the fruit 100% destemmed the resultant wine was matured in French oak with 15% being new for a period of 10 months.
Deep dark red black tinged heart with a dark red hue. Expensive aromas of dark to black cherry, anise and dried herbs flood the nostrils with some rhubarb, brambly cedar, forest floor and spice notes also evident. Rich fleshy textured dark cherry, anise and strawberry flavours are intermeshed with spicy cedar, dried herb, rhubarb, earthy bramble like characters and spice. Polished yet structured tannins with a long spicy, generously fruited finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
