2023 Kooyonga Creek Heathcote Shiraz

Rich and oaky with a strong toasty vanillin oak component overwhelming the finish.

Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months with 5% Tempranillo included in the blend. Impenetrable inky black heart with a very deep dark red black hue. Ripe black cherry and liquorice aromas fill the nostrils followed by some blackberry, vanillin cedar and peppered fennel notes. Rich and oaky, opulent blackberry and liquorice fruits are pitted against a strong toasty vanillin oak component which overwhelms the back half and finish. Some earthy dark chocolate and peppered fennel characters are also evident. Ripe sturdy tannin structure with toasty vanillin oak dominating the aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
