2023 John Duval Wines Plexus Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre
Barossa, South Australia, AUSTRALIA
Plush, silky and some what refined with an underlying freshness.
Deep midnight black heart with a dark red hue. Aromas of dark raspberry, liquorice and ripe plum infiltrate the nostrils followed by vanillin spice and gentle scorched earth notes. Plush dark raspberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits are rolled out across the silky textured palate with an undercard of vanillin cedar, subtle earth and spice. Some what refined in nature it has velvet smooth tannins and an underlying freshness to the well fleshed mid length finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
Other Reviews….
A blend of 46/34/20% shiraz (Krondorf, Marananga and Ebenezer)/grenache (Ebenezer, Tanunda and Moppa)/mourvèdre (Light Pass and Ebenezer). Plum, blueberry and boysenberry fruits with some raspberry pip high tones and hints of spice, ginger cake, pressed flowers, licorice, dark chocolate, rosehip and earth. Medium bodied and fruit pure with a graceful, bright travel and chalky tannin grip. Drink by 2035.

Dave Brookes - James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion
Dark-fruited aroma of blackberries, Damson plums, dark cherries, spices and coffee beans. The palate is bright, with finely grained tannins and fresh acidity that lead to a plush finish with a savory undertone. So fresh and tightly wound. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
