2023 Jim Barry Lodge Hill Riesling

Jim Barry purchased the Lodge Hill vineyard in 1977, convinced that it would produce some of the best Riesling in Clare. Situated on the eastern ranges of the township of Clare, it is one of the highest vineyards in the Valley at an altitude of 480 metres, and is ideal for producing steely, minerally Rieslings, distinctive to the area.
Brilliant water like colour with a faint greenish tinge around the outskirts. Leaping out of the glass are intense lime, citrus and orange rind scents followed by some green apple, talc and mineral notes. Mouth watering lime and citrus fruits are delivered with terrific concentration and zest over a back drop of orange rind, chalky talc characters and minerals. Finishes dry with crunchy acidity and a long scrumptious aftertaste.
