2023 Gut Oggau Emmeram

Gut Oggau is a leading natural wine producer based in Burgenland, Austria, celebrated for its expressive, biodynamically farmed wines. Established in 2007, husband and wife Stephanie and Eduard Tscheppe-Eselböck took over one of the oldest estates in the region, with the manor’s oldest walls dating back to the 17th century. Certified biodynamic by Demeter, the estate focuses on indigenous grape varieties and minimal intervention, crafting wines without added SO₂ to let the vineyard speak clearly. Each wine is represented by a fictional family member on the label, reflecting the wine’s unique personality and story. The result is a compelling range that combines tradition, sustainability, and vibrant, soulful drinking.
Emmeram is a striking and aromatic white made entirely from Gewürztraminer, grown biodynamically and vinified with minimal intervention. Intensely perfumed yet beautifully dry, expect notes of rose water, lychee, citrus peel, and spice, balanced by fine tannins and a persistent, savoury finish. Distinctive and full of character.
