2023 Greywacke Chardonnay

Rich, full and creamy textured with an energized feel to the long enveloping conclusion.

Fermented in French oak barrels using wild yeast then matured for 11 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with gleaming green tinged edges and a watery hue. Intense nectarine, grapefruit and bees wax scents flood the nostrils followed by some lemon butter, roasted almond and gun flint notes. Rich and full, layered across the palate with a creamy textural feel are nectarine, ripe pear and dried honey flavours which meld into a roasted almond and lemon butter back drop. Fresh, gun flint infused acidity lending an energized feel to the long enveloping conclusion.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Toasted coconut, baked peaches and lemon curd. A wine of dazzling flinty aromatics, bee pollen, halva and candied almonds. There is a persistence of driving acidity, uplifted moments of yuzu and buttered bread. Oak spices show in cinnamon and nutmeg but have settled into the body of the wine. A powerful chardonnay, with every aspect singing in harmony. Flavours echo for long moments. A wine you’ll remember and wish you bought more of. Drink by 2032.
