2023 Greenock Creek Alices Shiraz
Rich, flamboyant and voluptuous.
Dense inky black colour with a very deep dark red black hue. Wafting through the olfactory senses with impressive intensity are blackberry, liquorice and dark plum scents which are complimented by fennel, vanillin cedar, exotic dried apricot and spice notes. Rich and flamboyant, the voluptuously textured palate is swamped with lavish dark plum, liquorice, blackberry and fennel flavours. Sailing across the back half are notions of vanillin cedar, subtle apricot and pepper. Boasting outstanding power and concentration, it has velvet smooth tannins and a long seductively plush conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%
Other Reviews…..
The trademark Alices concentration is in full swing with this release. Dark-chocolate-dipped black cherries, blackcurrant and dark cherry compote fruit characters with layers of baking spices, mocha, blueberry pie, gentle cedar tones, chocolate bullets and earth. There's a leading citrus blossom note on the palate, then a sweep of the most pure dark and black fruits, compact, ferrous-edged, powdery tannins and a velvety flow as the wine slowly trails off. Drink by 2036.
