2023 First Drop Wines Mother’s Milk Shiraz
Rich, plump fruit backed by a sturdily built tannin structure.
Midnight black heart with a dark red hue. Elevated dark plum, liquorice and ripe black cherry scents make their way out of the glass followed by some vanillin oak, scorched earth and subtle spicy leather notes. Rich and plump, the full bodied palate is swamped with opulent dark plum, liquorice and black cherry fruits. Spicy vanillin cedar, earthy fennel and pepper elements the undercard. Ripe sturdily built tannin structure with a long, sumptuous finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 14.5%
Other Reviews….
Deep crimson with a plethora of ripe satsuma plum, blueberry and cherry fruits, plenty of appealing five-spice and hints of licorice, purple floral high tones, dark chocolate, olive tapenade and earth. There's a sweep of sour cherry on the palate, with ripe plum and berry fruits, fine-grained tannins and plenty of bright energy on the finish. Drink by 2034.
