2023 Domaine Mee Godard Morgon Grand Cras

Mee Godard is one of the shining lights of Beaujolais, crafting uncompromising and sumptuous wines from her vineyards located primarily in Morgon, along with a tiny parcel in Moulin-a-Vent. Across this small estate most of the vines are very old, averaging 60 years plus, and the vines are tended organically with a clear goal of using biodynamic practices in the near future. Mee aims to produce wines with the capacity to age extremely well, and as such can benefit from good aeration, or preferably a few years in the cellar.

Welcome to the deep end of Morgon, where forest-berry aromas meet wet earth. Understated power and concentration are married to a certain austerity. The superfine tannins deftly carry the very long and refined finish. Drink or hold.
