2023 Domaine Bruno Colin Puligny-Montrachet La Truffiere Premier Cru

Bruno Colin established his own domaine in 2003, inheriting prime vineyard parcels when the Colin-Deléger estate was divided. Today he farms about 9 hectares across Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. His wines are known for their precision and detail, combining ripe, expressive fruit with finely judged oak. Bruno's work in the cellar highlights the character of each cru while maintaining a consistently refined style.

Perched at the top of Puligny, La Truffiere's poor, stony soils give particularly fine and linear wines. Bruno’s bottling shows notable clarity and length, with a distinctly Puligny profile.

This is also markedly floral in character with its nose of the essence of spiced pear and exotic tea aromas that are trimmed in moderate wood influence. The palate impression of the middle weight flavors is not nearly as dense or powerful but it is markedly finer and more mineral-driven as well before terminating in an almost delicate yet punchy, long and beautifully well-balanced finale. This is a Truffière of finesse in 2023 but one that should also amply repay extended keeping. Drink through 2033+.
