2023 Domaine Bruno Colin Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Premier Cru

Bruno Colin established his own domaine in 2003, inheriting prime vineyard parcels when the Colin-Deléger estate was divided. Today he farms about 9 hectares across Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. His wines are known for their precision and detail, combining ripe, expressive fruit with finely judged oak. Bruno's work in the cellar highlights the character of each cru while maintaining a consistently refined style.

Morgeot is a broad premier cru with varied soils, and Bruno's parcel produces a wine of depth and structure, typically on the more powerful side of Chassagne.

A more floral-infused nose also reflects a whiff of the exotic though here it's more subtle, on the aromas of poached pear and discreet wood. The sleek and unusually refined middle weight flavor possess both good volume and focused power that seems to build on the seductive and sappy if punchy finale. This too is quite good and worth a look if you enjoy generously proportioned whites. Drink through 2030+.
