2023 Domaine Bruno Colin Chassagne-Montrachet En Remilly Premier Cru

Bruno Colin established his own domaine in 2003, inheriting prime vineyard parcels when the Colin-Deléger estate was divided. Today he farms about 9 hectares across Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. His wines are known for their precision and detail, combining ripe, expressive fruit with finely judged oak. Bruno's work in the cellar highlights the character of each cru while maintaining a consistently refined style.

Bordering Puligny and Saint-Aubin, En Remilly sits high on the slope with thin, rocky soils that yield taut, mineral-driven wines of great purity.

Smoky reduction completely dominates the underlying fruit at present so be sure to decant this if you're going to try a bottle young. The refined and strikingly textured medium weight flavors possess excellent mid-palate concentration before terminating in a highly persistent, impeccably well-balanced and markedly dry, but not really austere, finale. This is a big and powerful wine, particularly by the usual standards of En Remilly and one that should age effortlessly. Well worth investigating. Drink through 2033+.
