2023 David Duband Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Thorey Premier Cru
David Duband is regarded as one of the rising stars of Burgundy. He took over his family domaine at a very young age and now has more than 20 vintages of experience behind him. Starting out with small family holdings David, together with his business partner Francois Feuillet, have added to their portfolio of wines through the purchase of some exceptional old Grand cru vineyards throughout Gevrey Chambertin and Morey St Denis, including prime holdings of retiring vigneron Jacky Truchot.
Other Reviews....
This isn't quite as aromatically elegant as the Clos Sorbé though it is spicier. There is a bit more volume and a seductive texture to the middle weight flavors that possess both a subtle minerality and very good punch that carries over to the dusty and noticeably more firmly structured finale. This too could use better depth so at least a few years of cellaring are suggested. Drink through 2033+.

Mid purple. Marvellously perfumed on the nose with a sense of brisk cherry fruit energy. This is especially lively for Thorey which can be dour, good structure behind, a mini touch of chocolate. Drink from 2030-2036.
