2023 David Duband Latricieres-Chambertin Grand Cru
David Duband is regarded as one of the rising stars of Burgundy. He took over his family domaine at a very young age and now has more than 20 vintages of experience behind him. Starting out with small family holdings David, together with his business partner Francois Feuillet, have added to their portfolio of wines through the purchase of some exceptional old Grand cru vineyards throughout Gevrey Chambertin and Morey St Denis, including prime holdings of retiring vigneron Jacky Truchot.
Other Reviews....
This is also cool and decidedly restrained if exceptionally pretty with its airy array of spicy red currant, forest floor and wild cherry-scented nose. The succulent, round and caressing medium weight flavors definitely do not lack for punch or minerality, both of which suffuse the moderately austere, balanced and firm finale. This well-made beauty is also clearly built to repay extended keeping. Drink through 2035+.

Back to a slightly lighter ruby. Perfumed on the nose, a little salinity on the palate, more in a slightly sombre red fruit, some tannins behind, a touch of liquorice. Plenty happening but not quite in place today. Drink from 2032-2038.
