2023 David Duband Bourgogne Hautes-Cotes de Nuits
David Duband is regarded as one of the rising stars of Burgundy. He took over his family domaine at a very young age and now has more than 20 vintages of experience behind him. Starting out with small family holdings David, together with his business partner Francois Feuillet, have added to their portfolio of wines through the purchase of some exceptional old Grand cru vineyards throughout Gevrey Chambertin and Morey St Denis, including prime holdings of retiring vigneron Jacky Truchot.
Other Reviews....
A fresh and ripe nose consists mostly of layered red and dark pinot fruit along with a hint of spice. There is a beguiling sense of energy and texture to the delicious flavors that conclude in a refreshing if mildly tangy finish where the tang is very probably due to the high level of gas. Drink through 2026+.

Mostly in Stockinger foudres. The plan is to move in this direction for 80% then use new barrels for 20%. Good sound purple with a very fine red fruit bouquet and adequate intensity. There is bounce from the stems (60%) with unexpected darker fruit, then good weight behind, with fair grip. Drink from 2026-2028.
