2023 Dalrymple Single Site Pipers River Pinot Noir
Rich and impressively concentrated with a supple flow across the mid weighted palate.
Dark red heart with black toned edges and a red to dark red hue. Violet, anise and strawberry scents sail out of the glass with a perfumed like intensity followed by some fragrant herb, black cherry, earth and spicy cedar notes. Rich dark to black cherry, strawberry and anise flavours are delivered with impressive concentration, carrying a supple flow across the mid weighted palate. Spicy cedar, dried herb and earth elements sit underneath. Polished tannins with a dash of tangy acidity lingering through the long fleshy finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews….
A single-vineyard pinot noir from Pipers River showing plenty of wild strawberry, dark cherry and plum fruits with hints of medina spice, char siu, mountain herbs, dried citrus rind, citrus blossom, pomegranate, dried cranberries, dried meats and turned earth. A little more concentration this release; fruits a shade darker in the swatch book but still nicely composed, with a swoop of sour cherry, powdery tannins and a vivid briny cadence on the back end. Drink by 2035.
