2023 Coldstream Hills Reserve Chardonnay
A fresh, mid weighted Yarra Valley Chardonnay that finishes long and elegant.
Brilliant pale straw colour with flashes of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. A complex bouquet of white peaches, nectarine and pear intermixed with suggestions of dried honey, cashew, biscuity nougat and delicate spice entices the olfactory senses. Fleshy textured white peach, nectarine and citrus fruits carry plenty of intensity across the fresh, mid weighted palate. Traces of roasted almond, biscuity nougat and flinty mineral elements are highlighted across the back half. Energetic acidity with a long, elegant finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews….
Made from the Briarston vineyard (planted '94) and House Block (planted '85). Barrel fermented and matured in 50% new puncheons and barriques. A very bright green gold. Poised with aromas of stone fruits, grapefruit and a little crushed stone. Beautifully balanced and nuanced and finishes with a little orange pith on the exceptionally long palate. It's also worth pointing out that, on a world-wide scale, this is very fairly priced. Drink by 2032.
