The 2023 Faugères is a dense, voluptuous Saint-Émilion. Plush contours wrap around a core of blackberry jam, cloves, lavender, licorice and chocolate. This opulent, full-throttle Saint-Émilion is not at all subtle, yet it also has balance, in its own way. Tasted two times. Drink 2030-2043.

Pretty core of blackberries, blueberries, walnuts and hazelnuts. Medium to full body and velvety tannins. A blend of 70% merlot, 25% cabernet franc and 5% cabernet sauvignon.

From the cooler eastern portion of the appellation, the 2023 Château Faugères is deep ruby/purple-hued and has a lively perfume of darker red and blue fruits as well as violets, spring flowers, and charcoal. It's medium-bodied and supple, with the more fruit-forward style of the vintage and outstanding length. Tasted multiple times with consistent results.

Quite floral in nature, the wine is also loaded with ripe, sweet, dark, red pit fruits, espresso, chocolate mint, licorice, and black raspberries. Medium/full-bodied, the wine is silky, lush soft, and polished, with luscious, dark pit fruits, coffee bean, and black cherries in the finish. The wine blends 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2027-2039.
