2023 Billy Button The Alluring Tempranillo

A medium bodied Tempranillo with good flesh and slightly chewy tannins.

Deep dark red black colour with a dark red hue. Ripe dark to black cherry and liquorice aromas fill the nostrils followed by some vanillin spice and faint leather notes. Juicy dark cherry and liquorice fruits carry medium body weight and good flesh with vanillin spice and earth elements sitting in the background. Slightly chewy tannins with a generously fleshed finish of average length.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

Essentially elegant but so very well fruited. This tempranillo has an excellent pulse to it. It tastes of blueberries and raspberries, gentle vanilla, violets, red roses, sweet spice and earth. It’s all going on in the best of ways; the finesse of the tannin is A Class; the blood-like, ferrous inflections send the wines into a umami direction. Love this wine. Have enjoyed it on a few occasions and it woos me every time. Drink 2025-2030+
