2022 Yangarra Estate Blanc
Blanc is the result of years of research into the finest white varieties from the ancient north-west Mediterranean. Inspired by traditional Châteauneuf blends from the southern Rhône, the winery sought to create a modern white blend from their Estate. Through careful vineyard management and a gentle winemaking approach, Blanc highlights the vibrant, fresh, and crisp characteristics of these varieties.
Other Reviews....
A blend of grenache blanc, roussanne, bourboulenc, clairette, grenache gris and piquepoul blanc. The grenache blanc was pressed to tank, the other varieties basket-pressed, matured in used French barrels on lees for six months. The palate is powerful with fresh acidity.

I missed reviewing the 2021 professionally (if you could ever call what I do, that), but drank heaps of bottles of it at one of my local pubs. I really liked it. So here, 2022, which has a much higher percentage of Grenache Blanc in it than the 2021 (49%), and as a result it’s maybe a little less frisky. So here’s Grenache Blanc (80%), Roussanne, Bourboulenc, Clairette, Grenache Gris and Piquepoul Blanc.
Pear and apple, almond meal, a slight aniseed top note, a discreet amount of white pepper and spice. It’s a little bit juicy, with white fleshed fruit, some bright tangerine acidity and flavour, plenty of chalky texture, and a dusty and subtly nutty/briny/lemon peel finish of excellent length. I really like it. Drink 2023 - 2028.
